In a fancy split-level condo in Tokyo's Roppongi nightlife district, four women and four men gather from midnight to 5 am. They've all paid to be there (men more than women), and they have only one thing in common--they seek anonymous sex. Using no names, they're known only by their types: freeter (temp or part-time worker), mild-mannered salaryman, duplicitous OL (office lady), self-conscious working class factory worker, perfectionist teacher, veteran pervert, shy NEET ("not in education, employment or training") and bashful college student. Together, they unravel their identities in a night of increasing debauchery. Daisuke Miura's adaptation of his critically acclaimed 2005 play of the same name explores Japan's fuzoku (sex industry) with depth, humor and freewheeling indecency. This surprising, erotic and disturbing film features breakout performances by Sosuke Ikematsu and Mugi Kadowaki, who are tempted to mix love with sex.

Transfer student Mizuki Aonuma (Rina Sakuragi) is bullied mercilessly by classmate Aya (Eriko Nakamura) and others. Nevertheless, Mizuki is always able to maintain her calm composure. Kirie (Maika Shimamura), who has a passive character and is also bullied, becomes interested in Mizuki and longs for her. The two become close. With a guy named Shibanai (Syun Asada), Mizuki and Kirie decide to stand up to their tormentors. Mizuki though is badly beaten by Aya. Kirie and Shibanai are assaulted by teachers and endure shocking violence. Mizuki decides to get revenge. She wanders the street at night. At that time, Mizuki becomes possessed by a poisonous flower spirit. Madness of the flower spirit begins.

In an alternate version of Japan, superhumans from all different forms of fiction now coexist with humans: witches, kaiju, cyborgs, and even youkai. Some use their powers for criminal acts, some use them for heroic acts, and some even use them to just live normal lives. With the introduction of these new superhumans, the Japanese government formed the Superhuman Bureau: a team of individuals who overlook and protect them. The story follows Jiro Hitoyoshi, a member of this bureau, and what his grand purpose really is in all of this. Is what he's doing with the bureau good or is he no better than the criminal superhumans he keeps in check?
